  1. Materials within plants and animals are both transported via vessels, eg. phloem vessels (transport water, in plants), and arteries (transport oxygen, in animals). - LA
  2. Both Animals and Plants have a two-way system to transport material. In Plants, one way is via the Phloem to the roots, whilst the Xylem transports materials to the leaves. In Animals, The Arteries take blood AWAY from the heart whilst the Veins take blood TOWARDS the heart.

Different

Animals have a circulatory system, whereas plants do not; instead, plants have a transport system. - LA
Gravity helps the movement down the plant but movement can be both ways where as blood is pushed through body and doesnt go both ways in one vessel? LR.
Specific plant vessels (Phloem) can carry water and food nutrients in two different directions at the one time; in the Animal circulatory system that is not possible.

Animals use mainly diffusion and osmosis to transfer their nutrients, water and gases from the blood cells to the cells that need them as the blood cells are moving slow enough.
Plants use active transport to do this as it is much quicker and there wouldn't be enough time for this to occur with just diffusion and osmosis.
